Vortex/ A new game I'm working on.

Since this place got a game maker page itself! I can post all my stuff in this game.
anyways I'm making a game called "VORTEX"
It's a Spider that you play with to save the world from danger. the real story is This heroic spider, Vortex, saves the world and collects data from the enemies he fights to know who Killed has father "enerjak', YuRi, which is Vortex's friend, told him that a huge monster called The King skull killed his father. Vortex doesn't know what's the relationship between the enemies (later on I'll mention the names) and the king skull. In his adventure, He meets new friends, He meets "darklath", 'Cryisis", "Phsyco" and "Maya", they help him in his adventure to save the world and kill the Mortal enemy!
so....Yeah! (I just posted this topic for help, as long as nearly everyone here knows how to use game maker well!)

First question: How do I use the dialogs, I've downloaded it but I don't know how to use it... ThanX. I'll post a screenee later!

I started making a game called Vortex where you play as a black hole, but it was too hard to play and ditched. :3

Just create the text object for it to work. You may need to draw the box manualy behind evreything, I forgot.

If you downloaded it, the letter-by-letter thing should be going on it's own. For the top of the screen part, make sure it draws evreything realtive to what view_xview[] and view_yview[] are.

IDK what view you're using. If it's 0, use view_xview[0], etc.

There's dialouge extention files? I must be using a diffrent thing. What dialouge toutorial did you use?

Evil Toaster is a very popular game on the Midnight Synergy forums, created by one of the members(MyNameIsKooky). Sorry about that, I'm used to the only members on NFW being from there.

Edit:Forgot stuff about the game itself. Fail.
It folows the adventures of "App"(or "The Apple" for the first 4 games. He's named App on the 5th and final one.), who is a red apple who fights against the "Toaster Army".

Very brief, but whatever. :P

ET NERDAGE TIME! Well, at least with what's been releaced.
There are a total of 603 green apples. 300 are girls, 303 are guys. It is belived that 2 of the male green apples are the same apple, just in diffrent time periods, so it might be a total of 602 and 302 guys. None of the female green apples have currently been met, but are known to exist. 600 are just random apples who App saves over and over, while 2 have a large role in the plot. Mach and Leaf. However, in ET3 there was a green apple who was just called "Random Apple". He is the first one freed in the game and the 100th green apple saved in the series, assuming he wasn't in ET2 and just never said something. Anyway, Leaf is a green apple who is the only apple with a leaf(at least on App's side of the "Great Stone Wall", which seperates 2 groups of apples, mainly male and mainly female. As not all the female green apples have been seen, it's possible one will have a leaf. Each side of the Great Stone Wall has only 1 of the other gendre living there. The guy's side has "Elemna", a purple female apple who is a warrior of the elements and can heal App in ET4 once you free her from a cage. She helps you reach the 2nd ET4 boss, the Caginator. Without her it's impossible to reach without editing the save file or the game itself. She originaly started as a fan charecter made by 'Technos72". Then on the girl's side there's Tex, a brown male apple with shades. He is the first apple to officaly have a face, as faces were only added in ET5 excluding Tex, who got his in ET4, the first game he appears in. He is a master with weapons(guns, turrets, ect.) and later on has the ability to travel through time(however, this kills him at the end of ET4. The Tex you see in ET5 is before he traveled back. He ended up traveling back to kill App. He is the final boss of ET4. Before the fight, he tried to kill App twice with indistructible turrets he made himself out of materials from the "Toast Man"(A invinsible(well, I guess not, since Tex just ripped it up after it was made.))robot made by Evil Toaster which he could've controled and killed App with.)).)(in case you got lost in that, I'm discribing Leaf), which he an spin around rapidally to fly. In ET4, his first apperance, he can help App(after he is freed from a cage in a similar manner to Elemna) by flying under him and holding a spring to get him over pits. Leaf sees himself as the greatest green apple of all time, soley because of his leaf. Then Mach. Mach is a genius who constantly wears infared goggles, because he is partly blind in one eye. He won't admit what happened to his eye(App asks him at one point). There is another green apple with a role besides just being caged, who has a unknown name at the momment(In cutscenes, in the dialouge his name is shown as "???".). He is belived to be Mach 10 years in the past. He is a prototype of the "Main" 610 apples. He goes into "The Core"(The core of the planet, which looks kinda digital, but has the floors and walls made of normal stone) with a red apple(also reffered to as "???") who only has one eye, other other is a empty socket. He wears a eyepatch. Green ??? got his eye scratched by the same thing that poked Red ???'s eye out.

Here is a list of how many green apples to be freed are in each game.
ET1:None. This was kinda like a arcade game only.
ET2:99.
ET3:IIRC 320. "Shaman"(A brief summary here only. He was added in ET2. He is apparently the world only blue apple, who is magic.) is also caged and you free him after beating the final boss, "Roaster"(Another brief summary. Roaster was ET's top minion in ET2, but he has apparently left his side by ET4. He is a black flying toaster with arms and as of ET5, the leader of the toaster army.).
ET4:301, counting Leaf. 3 other apples need to be freed, Elemna, "Soap", and Shaman.
ET5:600. 50% are male and 50% are female. Before this 100% of the green apples were male.

You could show messages until you can get actual dialouge working.

Here's both my Speech engine and the ET speech engine. Use import resiouces or whatever to get them in your game. I recomend using the ET one, not mine, as it's much better. Mine contains stupid sounding lines because they were just for testing and I didn't want to do anything better.
